IB in general
The IB Diploma Programme
The IB Diploma Programme is a demanding pre-university course of study that leads to examinations. It is designed for highly-motivated secondary school students aged from 16 to 19.
The programme incorporates the best elements of several national systems, without being based on anyone of them. It has earned a reputation for rigorous assessment; giving IB diploma holders access to universities throughout the world. In Denmark the IB-diploma gives you the same possibilities as the Danish “studentereksamen” does.
The International Baccalaureate Organization was founded in Geneva in 1968. The headquarters are still situated in Geneva, but with about 1,500 schools all over the world, regional offices have developed over the years. The Stockholm office, www.ibo.org, is our reference link. IBCA is the examinations office in Cardiff, Wales, where all the exam papers are produced.
