Extended Essay

Extended Essay is an in-depth study of a limited topic. The purpose of the essay is to provide candidates with an opportunity to engage in independent research. This personal research is at the centre of the Extended Essay and your task is to reseach your topic and to communicate your ideas and information in a logical and coherent way. 

At Grenaa Gymnasium you must write your Extended Essay within the last part of IB1 and first part of IB2. Therefore, it is a good idea to think about subject and topic already after your first semester.
